Ok theres been two movies that have been amazing during this summer. Iron Man and Dark knight, now i preaty sure just bringing up this argument people are going to be at each others throats so plz try to remember i ask because curiosity helps me learn not because i have a Jerry Springer additude and like to cause havok. Now my question is this after reading some comics for both and seeing their moovies who do you guys like more.

Batman although Ironman is good but batman takes the cake as an badass mofo ever.

Personally I like Iron Man, but I expect to be in the minority. Batman is the bad-ass DC character (as opposed to the flagship Superman) and Iron Man isn't even remotely close to the most popular Marvel character. Spider-man is obviously their flagship character and Wolverine is their bad-ass character. Still, Iron Man is one of my preferred Marvel charaters, and I've always been a Marvel guy over DC. Still, I became a fan of Image (Spawn, Savage Dragon) back when they came on the scene in the 90's.

Esp with Dark Knight out now i think bats will get majority votes

the dark knight is a really good film with a sophisticated plot while Ironman is a classy actionfilm. So I preferre The Dark Knight.

Unfortunately DK had such crappy editing and the plot wasn't anything to write home about either, that it was unwatchable. Iron man was by far, a vastly superior movie.

...probably going to get blown to hell for saying this, but I enjoyed Iron Man thoroughly. It was done well, it followed the story closely enough (what I know of it, at least), and unlike some other action flicks I could name, it had slapstick - but just enough, and in the right places. I do enjoy slapstick.

Batman's got some points going for him. Human, no special suit (unless you count the belt), no unusual powers...the only superpower Batman can really be considered as having is going to the gym a lot. Facing the guys he does with nothing more than himself and his wits is a lot more impressive than, say, Superman would be in the same situations.

Iron Man is good, it just kind of loses itself near the end, the final badguy was just hard to take serious after he had been fighting real terrorists.

When I was young, I used to watch the original Batman TV show after school (In reruns -- I'm not that old!). After seeing Adam West play Batman -- Zap! Pow! -- who wants to see this Dark Knight impostor?

And Ironman -- Isn't that the type of movie which inevitably fails to live up to its original incarnation in the comics?

All I can say is if some guy wants to take me to the cinema, he'd better propose something better than one of those two lame flicks. Pfft.

Batman in general and for this year's movie. Still as much as I normally don't care much for Ironman I loved the movie this year and have i up among my favorites in Superhero movies.

Depends on one's mood probably. Dark Knight is much darker (in multiple ways). Iron Man had some comedy.

Iron Man has a more powerful weapon. Batman will out think him on the battlefield (for the battle is won before taking the field).

I did not care enough about Dark Knight to even go see it even though it did hit #2 all time box office behind Titanic. Too much publicity from Heath Ledger's death. Did like Iron Man enough to buy the DVD. Still, like all movies based on comic books, too much was altered from the original comic story line when it wasn't really necessary.

I don't understand the premise of this topic. Are we talking about which character is written better, who's comics sell more, which movie was more fun to watch, or is this just a generic "who would win in a fight"?

I am a big fan of the Chris Nolan's Batman movies. Also he is not bringing the Robin character into the mythology as long as he is directing.
Which is kinda BS considering that Robin is a large representation of Bruce's humanity. People can make all the gay jokes they want about it, but the fact that he raised an orphan child the only way he knew how, maturing him to become a father figure to several successions of Robins says a lot about the character.

But I think, judging by the opening post, that this discussion is geared more towards the movies. With that regard, both movies are fantastic, and comparing them would be akin to comparing apples to oranges. They're completely different, and the only connection is that they're both based off of popular comic book characters (Batman moreso, as Iron Man wasn't generally as big until the movie's release). The characters themselves, within the comic universe, are on opposite ends of the spectrum, and you would do them more justice if you compared Batman to say, Moon Knight or The Punisher, and Iron Man to someone like Cyborg (if we're just doing DC to Marvel comparissons here). The Dark Knight is a more serious, dark action-thriller, while Iron Man is a basic action movie with plenty of comedic elements.

I enjoyed both movies immensely since I'm not really partial to any specific genre, but I am drawn towards comic book movies because of my love for comic books in general. However, I did end up watching The Dark Knight multiple times at the cinema because it's just got that hook that draws you in. I am also grateful that Marvel is buying back all it's franchises and creating their own established "movieverse". I've yet to see Iron Man 2 though, but I heard it wasn't as great as the original.

if this is purely a superhero fantasy, id rather be batman.
but if this were "real life" so to speak, Iron man because i could just be an average guy but still be able to be awesome just by suiting up.

I like the technology of Ironman, but Stark is not a very good hero rolemodel. Batman is good he has motivation from his parents being killed, and the skills, where as Ironman is all the suit and technology, batman has both tech and skills to fight.
I really like both movies.
But I give Batman to win in a fight, if his stuff fails he will manage, Ironman if suit fails he could not move suit would be to heavy.

Given that the suit is a weapon of mass destruction Ill go iron man.

On average I would say DK, however IM 1, has same amount of action, technology and is more humerous than most DK. That said, IM2 not nearly as good as any of the DK movies, so I think depending on which movie, could be either DK or IM, they each have their moments.
