Does anyone start to lern Japanese after watching a anime?

I didn't start learning or talking in Japanese after anime, but I dream about it, maybe in the future :)

I went to a few lessons a while back but didnt want to continue because the teacher was very.... old school. She tought old Japanese and basicaly sucked ass!

I can say *Oh Genki Desuka* <-- it's something like that anyway it means Hello, nice to meet you. I only ended up doing a single lesson

I had the intentions of learning Japanese. Luckily for me, my cousin learned the language, and now he's married to a Japanese woman and they have two kids together. He gave me a language software a few years back so I could learn it, but I never made the time to actually do it.

Are Japanese hard to learn compared to other languages?

I have been into anime since the early 90's. I had every episode of DBZ fansubbed before they started playing on TV over here. I also played import video games a lot. I learned a lot of single words from doing that and then I started teaching myself basic japanese. I know enough to get by but want to learn more someday.

no never really thought of learning japanese.hell i only look at the pictures in comics so why learn it?

I thought about learning an other language, and have of japanese

my cousin has a buddy that learned how to speak japanese from watching anime. i only know a few words. i must seem like i have ADD compared to him.

Well one who watches a lot of anime does tend to learn some key or common Japanese phrases such as "Baka!" or "Dai jiu bu" or "Matte Kudasai" depending on how much they have watched. Hehehehe.

For those who are friendly with the french language, there is http://www.ici-japon.com/cours_japonais/ which is pretty well written.

But for a long term learning, although you need strong basis (usually from books), nothing is better than a trip on the field.

anyway, if you want a 'simple' start, there is Hokuto no Ken which is fairly easy to understand compared to others manga.

i wanted to, but, at the end of the day, it's fricking hard. O_O

I haven't learned yet, but I plan too. After I finish a few more semesters of mandarin, i'm switching to japanese.

learnt a bit of the very basic japanese.. but sure want to learn complete cos sometimes anime can only found in japanese version..

Its : 'Watashi wa on-namae wa ...'
Or you can say I am ... = Watashi wa ...

By the time I've learned Japanese there will be AI that'll be able to translate stuff for me anyway.

Japanese is a hard language to learn peeps, so many differences from english, and not only that sentance structure is hell on some people

I always wonder why people feel the need to learn Japanese after watching anime. Does doing so somehow make you more hardcore? Not that I watch anime a lot, but the last few animes I liked are as old as I am.

i dont think japanes easy to learn...
dificult letters...totaly diffrent language!

lol learning japanese is hopeless unless u pick up languages quite easily only thing u would learn with animes is one to two words here and there
