I'm new here, but it seems to me that this place has already been left to obscurity with the majority of the big members not posting for a couple of good years. Having experience in running a failing community, I can probably lend a few bits of advice that might help.
The first is has easily been accomplished by having the forum attached to a site with content. The problem here is advertising. See, while members can go out and tell everyone about the forums, that only goes so far, because people are either inherently lazy or hesitant to join a new community. More often than not, they'll just lurk (I'll get to that in a minute) and won't really contribute much to the bulk of the site. What you need to do here is have a clear area on the actual site (that being SheAniMale) that there is a large, bustling community awaiting new members. Of course, this being an adult themed site, it's going to be difficult attracting the kind of people who'd keep a forum alive with constant discussion and whatnot.
The other issue is how most people's preconceived notions when they join is to just leech content. This forum is practically advertised as a place to get free swag, which really puts a damper on having more members who actually post for the sake of posting. I think maybe one good idea would be to have a special section of the boards that houses the content people desire becoming visible to members only after they make say...25 to 50 posts?
Other than that, I'm not really sure what's going on here. There's a lot of cool cats and plenty of intelligent discussion going on to keep people interested. I mean, I know this is an adult site, but there's more to things than just T'n'A, right?

With the newest round of spammers, I'm really beginning to support Dark Side's ideas. We need some way to keep this forum alive, and a special members' section is a great idea to keep people in here.
Honestly, I don't know why I still visit this place. I guess knowing that I'm one of the people who still contribute new stuff attracts me back. Anyways, no matter what happens, I'll likely be with this site til the very end.

I was a pretty bored so I decided to read the first page of this thread. Its really a sad wake-up call. Even the moderators from the past knew that the forum was slightly uncommunicative (if that's even a word...).
The sad part to me isn't the lack of communication and contributions, its the combination of the high amount of users and the former. I admit that about half of them are ad-bots, but there's still a good 50 - 70 people who sign in annually. It just shows how porn forums and sites are mainly for a quick release. (excuse my terse wording in this post).

Gentlemen, I will officially announce that this ship has sunk. This is the first time I've visited in about a month and its a wreck in here. Its a shame to see one of my frequent hentai forums go down like this, but I guess this happens to everything eventually.
Spammers (bots, humans, or whatever else) are roaming these waters and I think its time to abandon ship. Its been an awesome journey guys, but I don't think I'll ever be coming back. Thanks comsmith for all your hard work, but I don't think its worth it at this point. Such a shame that all that work couldn't stop the never-ending stream of whatever these guys are.
Good bye Animephilia, and good luck on your survival. I wish you the best.

I suggest that we start from scratch. Get rid of all these bots and spammers and shit, and advertise this forum the right way. Now, I may be new here and lurking for some new forums, and I recently found this one which does look like a good place to stay, but the mass majority of posts I keep seeing are useless shit and spams, and something has to be done.
